Sue’s Citrus
Story: Sue’s Citrus

Sue shares the secret to ensuring you get the best out of your lemon tree this growing season.
- There are over 100 different varieties of lemon worldwide, and only a handful are commonly grown in Australia.
- The Eureka is the most common. It is bitter and sharp, similar to the Lisbon, and came to Australia from California.
- The Meyer is milder and juicier. It originated from China and is believed to be a hybrid of a lemon and orange.
- If you want a sweet lemon, check out the Lemonade. Its fruit can be eaten like an orange and the longer it stays on the tree, the sweeter it gets.
- Thorny branches, yellow mottled leaves and leaves and fruit dropping prematurely are all signs that something is wrong with your lemon tree.
- If you’ve got strong and healthy soil that’s full of microbes, your tree will thrive and produce large and tasty fruit.
- Start applying Troforte M Fruit & Citrus this spring. It’s a controlled release formula that contains up to 24 strains of beneficial microbes.
- These microbes will work on the soil, which in turn will work with the minerals in this formulation to ensure they are absorbed by the plant.
- Apply it every 6 months, now and again at the beginning of autumn.
- Don’t forget to water it in well to activate the microbes and allow them to get to work immediately.
