One of the hottest trends, as far as indoor plant growing, is converting from potting mix mediums to water. Neville demonstrates how to display plants in water around the house.
- Choose a suitable indoor plant, such as a Philodendron. Ask at your local garden centre or go online for advice.
- Once a plant has been selected, remove the potting mix off the plant roots. Gently, wash the potting mix off with water.
- Fill your pot with water and position your plant inside, using pebbles to hold onto the roots and provide stability.
- Lucky Bamboo plants are great for transplanting into water-based pots.
- Ensure to feed your plants regularly.
- Osmocote Pump+Feed formulation has been specifically developed for indoor water plants and propagating plants in water and it contains all the needed elements for growth.
- Osmocote Pump+Feed is colourless and immediately soluble. Hence, plants can start feeding immediately. It is recommended to apply fortnightly.
- Controlled release tablets feed for up to 6 months and can be used on larger indoor plants.
- If you have a garden pond with waterlilies, push the tablet into the potting mix/soil. The tablets have a non-soluble outer shell to protect your fish.
