Trevor harvests Rainbow Chard fresh from his garden to handover to Chef, Brendan Pang, to create a delicious meal with!
- Rainbow chard is a member of the beet family and is incredibly good for you.
- It is rich in many vital minerals and vitamins including plant or phytochemicals called betalains which give them the red and yellow hues you see in the foliage and stems.
- To get the best growth out of Rainbow Chard you need two things, a rich organic free draining soil, and a sunny spot (and water of course).
- It will need to be fed, to replace the minerals and nutrients in the soil of edible gardens between every crop.
- When you harvest, feed at the same time, boosting growth and keeping the soil and roots healthy, encouraging the plant to push out lots of healthy foliage.
