Episode: 03
Presenter: Linda Ross
Air Date: 3rd September 2022
The lovely Linda takes us through a spring cleaning of our spring plants! A check of pests, and dying leaves is first on the list.
- Trim the dying and yellowing leaves, they’ve more than likely gotten to this stage due to the cold and wet weather.
- Wipe down any dirty or dusty leaves with a wet cloth, and a quick tip from Linda, is to add some milk to the water to make the leaves nice and glossy.
- Now to check the soil moisture, you can do this by using a moisture probe or just your own finger.
- For smaller spaces, try out some cascading plants, over shelves and bookshelves for the best use of space.
- ZZ Raven is perfect for dark rooms, it comes out dark green, and as it ages it turns indigo violet and then to black, you can leave this one alone and just make sure not to over water it!
- Apply a Osmocote Mist and Feed indoor plant spray over the leaves to have them looking glossy and green and absorb the nutrients!
- For a long-term feed, a slow-release fertilizer ebbs out into the root system over three to six months.
- The Osmocote fertiliser tablets for indoor plants are ideal to feed your plants without stress or mess, just pop one into each plant.
