Story: The Garden Gurus to the rescue Home Visit ft. Seasol
Episode: 04
Presenter: Linda Ross
Air Date: 10 September 2022
Linda talks giving your lawn a spring makeover, whether you have a soft leaf buffalo, kikya, couch or rye grass backyard!
- Linda’s five steps for complete lawn rejuvenation begin with:
- Remove weeds – either by hand or using a weeding tool.
- Aerate the lawn with a fork or hire a lawn aerator from a hire company.
- Feeding lawns as they come out of winter is essential. Today I’m using a 3-month slow-release feeding with balanced nutrients and trace elements, for strong lush green lawns.
- After you’ve loosened up the soil especially in hard compacted high traffic areas, apply a very light layer, up to 10-30mm layer, of Seasol Lawn Top Dress Mix... this is designed to encourage lateral growth and quick coverage before new spring weeds establish.
- Seaweed has calcium and helps to strengthen the cell walls in your grass making them stronger. You can collect certain amounts of seaweed from the beach and soak it and then apply the seaweed to thew garden as mulch or you can go for Seasol Gold.
- What you should be left with is a healthy soil which equates to a lush green lawn! Thanks Linda and Seasol!
