- Herbs are costly at the checkout and quick to wilt in the fridge. For the cost of one bunch of herbs, you could buy a packet of seeds that will grow hundreds of plants!
- Mr Fothergill’s has a great recommendation for Perennial herbs you can harvest continuously: Rosemary, Thyme, Oregano, Mint, Chives and Sage are all great options.
- For those annual herbs that you can grow seasonally and in particularly the Spring season, the plants to look for are Basil, Parsley, and Coriander.
- High produce crops can give you some great value, Mr Fothergill’s recommends vegetables like 5252 Spinach Viking and Silver beet.
- These vegetables produce continually, you can pick, and it will grow back, you can even grow the Spinach in a pot.
- 5718 Zucchini Blackjack is seen as a heavy cropper and will give you a continual harvest over a longer period. Just one plant can supply all a family need.
- When it comes to fast to harvest crops, those that you just want to get started quickly, Mr Fothergill’s has you covered and so does Nev.
- Spinach, Lettuce, Radish, and Rocket are super-fast to harvest and for the most part these produce continually.
