Bonnie shares her common gardener obsession with Dahlias. Though planting them at the right time is tricky, let Bonnie show you when and how is best!

• Dahlias are best planted from September when their tubers begin to form eyes, which are tiny little bumps near the neck of the tuber, these are incredibly important as without them the dahlia won’t grow.
• When planting a spot with part shade and sun is ideal. Next dig a hole a bit deeper than the length of the tuber. For the soil, humus-rich composted soil with good drainage will do the trick.
• Dahlias are extremely forgiving and surprisingly very easy to grow, they are a great plant for anyone starting out in gardening.
