Kim demonstrates a quick and simple way to keep snips sharp and working at their best.

Steps

  • Hold secateurs with handles facing away from body, and at an angle slightly facing away from body.
  • Working only on cutting edge/bevel-side, hold file at 20 degree angle to blade.
  • Put thumb under base of blade and hold file as if it were a potato peeler.
  • Start at back, using light pressure and run file along blade in one smooth stroke. Repeat a few times.
  • ?To remove burs on back edge, lay file flat and run over once along blade?s reverse.
