Fleming’s Hydrangea quercifolia ‘Munchkin’

Episode: 9
Title: Fleming’s Hydrangea quercifolia ‘Munchkin’
Broadcast: May 20 2017
Presenter: Trevor Cochrane

We love finding new release and new and improved plant species for domestic garden environments and today Trev shows us another one from our friends at Fleming’s.

  • Previously on the show we featured the amazing work the Fleming’s family and their professional team of staff have done in providing Australia’s with plants and trees that perform better in a home garden environment and here’s another.
  • If you’re a fan of Hydrangea’s this is one you’ve got to check out.
  • This is the Oak Leaf and if you’re living in a dry climate and you’re struggling to grow Hydrangea’s this is the one you want to get your hands on.
  • It’s a brilliant new form, only gets to about a meter in height and it stays really compact, which is unlike any of the other oak leaf forms that you’ll find.
  • This deciduous tree has a beautiful upright flower that’s pure white or a beautiful creamy colour that eventually changes to a soft pink as it ages.
  • Now is the time to be planting them out in your garden.
