Australian gardens are best served by Australian-made tools that have been developed for our unique environment.

  • In the early 1890s, Leonard Chambers and William Thompson started a beekeeping supply business in Melbourne. By 1898, they’d launched the Cyclone Fence & Gate Company to provide fencing for hives.
  • By the 1920s, they had expanded into producing axes, digging tools, cutting tools, and these innovations and products changed Australian gardens forever.
  • The tools the company has developed since then are game changers, such as the hedge sheers, featuring wavy blades ideal for slippery stems with a compound cutting action that enhances cutting force.
  • The sheers have non-stick PTFE-coated steel blades, aluminium tri-oval handles and a notched blade for cutting larger stems, as well as a shock absorbing bumper that reduces stress on your hands and elbows. It also comes with a lifetime guarantee.
  • The bypass lopper has blades that run alongside each other, and are perfect for cutting medium to thick sized wood. These produce extremely clean cuts, with carbon steel blades and a reduced friction pivot bearing telescopic mechanism that extends from 650mm to 890mm.
  • The Cyclone Alu pruner is a fantastic pair of secateurs, with hard steel blades that will cut cleanly. They even come with a pouch for the gardening pro, allowing you to keep your tools close at hand.
  • Falling off ladders is the biggest cause of injury in the garden, which is where the telescopic pruner comes in handy. This has a reach of 3.25 metres, with a quick pull mechanism allowing for easy branch selection and action, as well as a pruning saw for precision pruning.
