With everyone spending more time indoors at the moment, there has never been a better time to look after your indoor plants.
- If you’re having problems with indoor plants, it is likely because you’re giving them either too much or too little love – either too much or too little water and fertiliser.
- Your soil should always be moist, not wet. If it is too dry, plants will stress and deteriorate – as a general guide, a 150ml for a standard 200ml pot is more than enough per week.
- Make sure to have a tray underneath the plants to catch any run-off and allow the plant to soak it back up through capillary action.
- Fertilisers can be challenging – indoor plants need regular feeding. While you can use a controlled release plant food once every four to six months, a liquid plant food is much better.
- The people at Scotts Osmocote have developed a specialised Pour + Feed plant fertiliser that is premixed, so all you have to do is pour a cap full over the soil and you’ll see results in 7 days.
- This works well for most plant types, and is a great way to boost growth and stimulate flowering without risking any setback. Simply apply it to the soil every fortnight for maximum performance.
- Most liquid fertilisers have an organic base and can leave the area smelly while staining carpets and paving, but that is not the case here – Scotts Osmocote is no odour.
- Scotts Osmocote Pour + Feed won’t burn your plants, and will produce lush healthy growth.
