Trevor expands on his knowledge and learns how to create habitats at home that provide native animals the right protection and food to sustain themselves.

• Caversham Wildlife Park is a dedicated team, caring for over 200 native species. They have many tips on how you can benefit Australian native wildlife at home with sustainable pest control practices.
• Rodenticides are poisons designed to kill pests such as rats. However, birds are unnecessarily dying by ingesting rats and mice that have been poisoned.
• Deter rats and mice around your property by simply cleaning up; removing rubbish, keeping animal feed well contained and indoors, picking up fallen fruits and vegetation, and using chicken feeders removes potential food sources.
• Replace palms with native trees; palm trees are a favourite hideout for black rats, while native trees provide ideal habitat for native predators like owls and hawks which help to control rodent populations.
