• Areas with foot traffic, pets running around and even mowers are susceptible to compaction.
• Soil compaction makes it hard for the roots and runners of the grass to get down where they need to go.
• Coring or aerating is great way to alleviate compaction, allowing air, water and nutrients to get deeper into the soil.
• It’s best to do this once the weather begins to warm up as your grass starts growing.
• It’s important to apply a fertiliser or a light sandy top dressing once finished.
