Jude shows you a few ways how you can turn trash into treasure when you grow root veggies in your garden. With a bit of imagination and creativity she shows how growing your winter crop of carrots and beetroot can become a feature in your garden.

  • Line your container with plastic to keep soil in place.
  • Use foliage contrast to make your arrangements look even better.
  • Carrots like to grow with members of the onion family (shallots, spring onion, chives, onions).
  • Marjoram and beetroot is an ideal companion planting combination.
  • Miniature varieties are the best choice for container cultivation.
