Just like every other garden, it is crucial to mulch community gardens. Mulch acts like a sunscreen for the garden just like our skin. A good waterwise mulch will protect the soil and limit moisture loss due to evaporation, helping communities produce thriving gardens whilst saving water and money.

Darren's Tips and Facts

• With the days getting hotter and the height of summer just around the corner, the best thing you can do for your garden right now is to make sure it is well mulched. Mulching is absolutely vital if you want your garden to thrive through summer without using bucket loads of water.
