Every once in a while Trevor gets asked the obvious question; why are we called The Garden Gurus? Here he explains how we got our name.

• The Garden Gurus started in hey day of gardening TV shows nearly 12 years ago. At the time Burkes Backyard, Gardening Australia and even Backyard Blitz would provide advice that was applied as if it suits all of Australia’s varying climates and soils. We recognized that this was not the case, and sought to pay attention to individual states and climates.

• We also found that garden experts often make out that gardening is complex and difficult when it isn’t. Gardening is instinctual and a completely natural activity. It involves looking and observing and with a little bit of assistance you can achieve amazing things in your own backyard. Here at The Garden Gurus-we strive to make gardening easy and fun for all.

• Trevor and all our wonderful presenters and guests share their personal knowledge and inspiration, so you can see the many great things about gardening.

• We’ve produced well over 500 episodes since starting, and done some 3500 stories across Australia sharing local ideas, advice and visiting your amazing gardens.
