Tips and Facts
- Garden centres are full of the latest plants suitable for shaded areas.
- Cliveas are marvellous plants in your garden that just flower year after year with almost no maintenance.
- Bromeliads are hardy plants which can be grown outdoors in most areas of Australia.
- Foliage is really important for adding interest in the shade and it’s often the variegation in the leafs that creates an appeal. Cordylines are the perfect example of this and can be found in stripes of pinks, purples and greens with a wide range of shapes and sizes.
- When planting tropical plants, use plenty of compost and fertilizer for best results.
