The front yard of a home is a statement to the whole neighbourhood. Neville features the importance of street appeal and the impact it can have on property value.
Simple tips to increase your property’s value
-
Work on your street appeal when considering selling your home.
-
Street appeal is the first impression of your property that you get from the street, before you even enter the front gate. The Real Estate Institute of WA have worked out from their statistical analysis that a colourful well maintained garden as viewed from the street can add between 10 and 15% to the value of the property.
-
One of the most cost effective plans is to plant annual flowers, petunias, portulaca salvia and verbena. They all pack a lot of colour. Buy them in bulk to make a big impression.
-
Feed the garden to encourage spring growth and trim hedges and any woody looking shrubs so the result is green, neat and tidy.
-
For some timely advice and the goodies you need to improve the value of your house, go to your local garden centre and pick up some street appeal in a pot.
