Story Title: Antipasto
Episode 5: WA's Great Gardens
Date: 13th June 2010
Presenter: Neville Passmore

Antipasto is indispensable to making a big hit with your guests and will add a touch of class to your next meal.

Neville's Tips and Facts

  • The name translates from Latin to 'before the meal', and begins the meal with a temptation and expectation, sharpening the appetite.
  • No one agrees about what should be on an antipasto plate. Like everything in Italy it all depends on where you come from and what you like.
  • Antipasto is all about temptation, with small portions of everything as the key, so that the taste buds are excited without too much filling of the tummy.
  • Try a variety of different meats and cheeses such as Provolone or mozzarella.
  • For a variety of pickled vegetables try favourites such as, cauliflower and mushrooms.
  • You can't go past roasted mushrooms and marinated eggplants.
  • For a final touch, olives are critical with a variety, such as Greek kalamata olives or Spanish stuffed olives.
