Story Title: Handy Hint- Skin care the natural way
Episode: Two
Date: March 13th 2010.
Presenter:  Trevor Cochrane and Lilly Van Epen

Australians spend an overwhelming amount of dollars on skin care per year. Save money and freshen up your skin as Trevor and Lilly reveal what plants to grow in your garden for a natural healthier looking skin.

Did you know?

  • Australians spend hundreds of millions of dollars on skin care yet the most common base ingredients can be found in many Aussie gardens.
  • The African succulent Aloe vera is renowned for being good for the skin and combine it with the juice of a freshly squeezed olive and you've got mother nature's ultimate skin care treatment. The juice of aloe alone or olives alone is remarkable in their effects on your skins suppleness and general health. Combine them and you have an amazing skin health elixir.
  • Growing both plants is easy in most places across Australia and every garden should have room for a couple of olive trees. Aloes are best grown in pots and get about 5 pots going if you're going to use them for juice.
