Handy hints on growing Aquaponics

• No matter how good your filtration system is, a fortnightly change of water is recommended as your fish reach maturity.
• Change of water is recommended when fish reach around 300gms to 400gms in weight. They start consuming large amounts of food at this stage and their waste can become toxic to them if it's not flushed regularly.
• A drainage outlet to productive garden bets is an effective way to utilise this water.
• Weekly topups in summer are needed due to evaporation, but generally these only consist of around 100 to 200 litres of replacement water.
