Featured Product- Backyard Aquaponics

  • Vegetable garden starts in a fish pond.
  • Water from fish growing pond fed through a series of grow beds containing fast growing leafy vegetables, herbs and fruits.
  • Fish need their water to be cleaned of excess nutrients and plants need these nutrients- natural recirculating system.
  • Fish manure delivered to root systems.
  • Plants add oxygen back in water and strip water of nutrients- perfect environment for growing fish.
  • Grow beds filled with expanded clay which acts as a biofilter and beneficial bacteria.
  • This colonises the surface of the expanded clay and converts the ammonia fish wastes into nitrates the plants can use.
  • The plants consume the nutrients, cleaning the water for the fish.
  • Clean water is then returned to the fish freshly oxygenated.
  • Raided grow beds means no heavy digging and bending.
  • No pests can get to your plants.
  • No sand to wash off your vegetables.
  • No weed problems.
  • Once a system is up and running there are no ongoing running costs apart from fish feed and power.
  • Uses 90% less water than traditional soil growing methods.
  • Only water losses are through evaporation and transpiration.
  • A family sized system can grow 100kg of fish as well as all your fruit and vegetables.
  • Consumes less power than a couple of light globes.
  • Takes 5 minutes a day to maintain – just feed the fish.
  • Plant and harvest your vegetable and top up the water every week or two.
  • Requires no fertilizers or chemical nutrients.
  • Faster maturing plants and no nutrients are lost.
  • Systems are clean and neat.
  • Comes as complete units- just add fish and plants.
  • In as little as four weeks vegetables are ready!

Mention the Garden Gurus to receive a free worm farm valued at $90.00 with every complete system installation.
