• The plant was discovered in New Zealand over 20 years ago, as a sport or chance variation.
• It spreads by sending out side shoots. Therefore, in theory, the plant could be propagated by splitting apart the side shoots. This however, would take a very long time.
• Anthony Tesselaar International put the Red Fountain into tissue culture, a laboratory method using micro-cuttings in order to increase its number.
• Red Fountain has become a major foliage feature plant, used around the world.
• It is loved for its amazingly vibrant colour as well as its ability to flourish in full sun, part-shade, full shade and even inside.
• It is low-maintenance and easy to care for, as well as being able to adapt in most soil types.
