How to create a productive herb spice and kitchen garden full of flavor.

Featured Products:

  • The reality with all these plants is they need a good soil and regular nutrient and water supply if they are going to produce the volumes of leaf material we would use regularly at home in the kitchen.
  • Boost the sandy soils fertility by adding a magnificent compost available locally called Biowise. It's rich and organic, has a good nutrient base and will hold moisture around the herbs shallow roots for longer. To make sure you get the best quality compost in your local area ask if it's been fully composted and if it has the Australian premium or red tick standard certification. If it does, you're bound to get good results.
  • Next, it's planting the herbs – Always start with the best quality plant, in other words the healthiest. There's no limit to the selection of herbs you can grow, there are so many. But it's how you grow them that makes the difference. A regular feed with a liquid or organic plant food like this will ensure luxuriant foliage growth. Apply once a month for best results.
  • It's also worth remembering to harvest your herb regularly, the more you pick the better the plants will grow and look, so don't be scared to hack them back. If the herb is seasonal like basil, throw the foliage into freezer bags and pull it out as needed during winter so you don't run out.
