Justin Langer’s garden
Title: Justin Langer’s garden
Episode: 1 Hour WA Easter Special
Broadcast Date: 17th April
Presenter: Trevor
He is our much-loved former cricket captain who loves to garden in his downtime. Justin Langer invites Trevor into his home to show him around his beautiful garden, and picks Trevor’s brain while he is at it!
- Although he has spent most of his life around lawn, Justin’s isn’t looking so great. Some of the problem lies in the fact that he has another species of grass coming through his beautiful fine-leaf couch grass. Unfortunately this is a common problem in many Perth homes, and the only solution is to remove all the grass, and start again.
- Justin’s citrus trees are also looking a little forlorn. When you live on the coast in WA, the norm is for plants to grow low and scrubby simply because there is not enough nutrients to sustain anything more. To transform your soil to promote the healthy growth of larger, citrus tress, the addition of manganese, iron and magnesium is a must.
- The Okra, or ladies finger, as it is sometimes known, also features in Justin’s garden. It’s great in curries, and are best picked when they are smaller, when they are tender and soft.
