Hint 1 – Applying Water to the Garden
Presenter: Neville Passmore
A better way to help water our plants is to spread the water wider than the drip zone because recent research shows that the roots go beyond the edge of the foliage.
Another trick is to keep the water at ground level and not on the foliage. This is particularly true for roses because they are susceptible to mildew and tomatoes are prone to a whole range of fungal diseases.
Water Fact: We physically consume less than 1% of all treated drinking water; the rest is for lawns and gardens, showers, toilets kitchens and pools.
