Recycling Ideas
Presenter: Phil Dudman
Along with all the gardening questions we receive from viewers sometimes we get some great ideas as well. So Phil visits a man named Paul Roginson who is passionate about recycling and he can hardly wait to show you some of his terrific ideas.
Phil takes a look at Paul’s Teahouse which is absolutely fantastic and finds out that Paul once saw one that looked very appealing a figured that it wouldn’t be too hard to build. He made the shingles on the roof out of some old fence palings from his dads house, gathered up some timber from the local hardware store and then he and his father put it up in a couple of weekends.
It is a brilliant idea, but that is not all Paul has in his garden. Phil has seen a lot of old bathtubs used in gardens but with a bit of imagination you can really make them look a treat. Simply by putting a timber frame around it to support the tub and using corrugated iron to give that rustic appearance you have a great affect and then only need to add the potting mix to be on your way.
Paul just loves giving new life to other peoples junk and one of the greatest things that Phil notices is the raised vegetable beds that have all been created out of old roller doors. If you are wondering what to do with those bits of old poly pipe then why not use them to make a frame to help shade you vegetables on a hot day.
