Our Itinerary…

Day One Friday

After arriving in Kuala Lumpur at the crack of dawn we drove the 1 and a half hour journey to Malacca where we checked into the hotel for some scrumptious breakfast.

After we had freshened up it was straight out to see the sights and do some exploring for our first shoot of the trip. Paul was up first.

Jonker Walk is a haven for all antique collectors and bargain hunters. It is a place you can get lost in with the copious numbers of local shops. We all had a great time searching for that perfect bargain to bring home, and Paul found unique way to visit all the historical sites of Malacca on a Trishaw.

Paul decided to take an hour guided tour, which will set you back about $25. It isn’t just a brief tour of the history though; you will be taken on a journey way back to the very beginning of Malacca.

He does worn though, you are taking a leap of faith entrusting the driver of the Trishaw!

Put the 31st of August in your diary because Malaysia is set to put on the biggest party in half a century as they celebrate 50 years of independence. It will be a huge party not to be missed and the invitation is open to everyone!

After a long day searching through all the antiques and bargains to take back as gifts we were spoilt with a fantastic Dinner at the Ole Sayang Restaurant.

But the day was not over yet. The entire crew where guests of honour of a Southeast Asian first, the Light and Sound show! It was a spectacular re-enactment of significant events in the history of Malacca, presented through the means of lights, narration, dialogue, music, and sound effects to project a real life drama.

After an overwhelming day full of History, discovery and amazing entertainment we all couldn’t wait for our heads to hit the hay!
