Day 4 - Korean Botanical Garden
Day 4- June 2007
Korean Botanical Garden
This botanical garden is a treasure trove of Korean Native plants. Opened in 1999, this 105 square kilometer garden has approximately 1,300 plants. The garden is broken down into an indoor Exhibition Hall, Herb Garden, Cultivation Area, Ecosystem Garden, Singal Mountain Path, and a Theme Garden.
Most plants are identified with a plaque with details in Korean and English. And being set along side a mountain, the garden is full of well manicured walking trails, including the Singal Mountain Path which stretches 2kms. On this path is a wonderful display of Mongolian Oak trees as well as azaleas and rhododendrons, making it one of the most popular walking courses.
All types of native flowers can be purchased at the store. Also in the Garden are convenience facilities such as Cafe Bian, serving tea and ice cream, as well as rest rooms and benches. The best season for visiting Korea Botanical Garden is from June to August.
