Growing fresh produce can be easy particularly if you have some little helpers like Isabella and Oli.
Even if you don’t have a large garden there’s no reason why you and your family can’t have a great range of fresh produce in a balcony pot or planter box. All you need is a little bit of space and some sunshine for a mini greenhouse.
The Yates Mini Greenhouses are great, the clear plastic lids allows light in so your seeds can germinate. Moisture content and humidity can be varied by a simple dial on the side. This creates the perfect environment to grow seeds; they will just need a little extra TLC.
You can grow just about any seeds you like such a greenhouse, just add some seed raising mix and few seeds into each cell and water them in. A whole range of vegetables, herbs and flowers (like the colourful Cosmos ‘Bright Eyes’) can all be sown from seed right now.
Growing things from seeds isn’t hard and it’s a great way to get kids into gardening. Spending time like this is something both they and you are going to remember for a long time. This little setup won’t cost the earth and it makes a great little project that they can call their very own.
When your seedlings are ready to be planted out into the garden; or into that pot you have ready; it’s as simple as pinching them out and planting them into a nice rich soil or a premium potting mix.
