Ozbreed is a well known plant and turf breeder specializing in grasses, and grass like ornamental plants, and tough turf varieties. A family owned company by Todd and Marina Laytt, Ozbreed focuses on varieties that are low maintenance, drought resistant and overall attractive, unique plant and grass varieties.

Featured Plant- Wingarra (Lomandra contertifolia ‘Wingarra’)

  • Description: Compact, clumping, ornamental, blue foliage plant. Similar in habit to a tussock grass, but rarely needs trimming.
  • Uses: Mass planting. Foliage or grassy garden. Accent or border plant.
  • Position: Tolerates a wide range of climatic conditions. Full sun to part shade. Very hardy, excellent drought and frost tolerance.
  • Care: Plant in well mulched garden. Fertilise once per year with a slow release fertiliser. Trim every 3-4 years to remove older leaves

Featured Plant- Nyalla (Lomandra longifolia ‘Nyalla’)

  • Description: An improved semi-compact fine leaf blue grey form of the popular Lomandra longifolia. It grows to 750mm high with a spread of 750mm. It has an attractive yellow flower head early in spring.
  • Uses: Ideal for specimen planting or mass planting in gardens, roadsides, golf courses, factories, offices and most types of residential and commercial planting. Ideal for patio pot plants and planter boxes. A great understory plant. Nyalla's foliage is great when used in vases as a foliage filler for cut flowers.
  • Position: Grows well in full sun and moderate shaded positions. Tolerates windy and salt laden positions. Good for hot dry or humid areas and heavy frost cold areas.
  • Care: Irrigation is optional for most populated areas of Australia. Avoid trimming in drought conditions, or in the middle of summer. Fertilise with a slow release fertiliser earely in spring or autumn.

Featured Plant- Katrinus Deluxe (Lomandra longifolia ‘Katrinus Deluxe’)

  • Description: Katrinus Deluxe is like the original Katrinus but has bigger and better flowers, a finer leaf and a more dense and compact form. It grows to 800mm high with a spread of 800mm. In dry climates, it grows slightly smaller, to about 600mm high. It flowers in spring, with and abundance of large flower clusters.
  • Uses: Ideal for specimen planting or mass planting in gardens, roadsides, golf courses, factories, offices and most types of residential and commercial planting.
