- Evergreens of cool climate gardens
- Small, neat, leathery leaves and dense long lived growth
- Thrive in most soils in sun or shade and adapting well to warmer climates
- Pruning is essential to keep their shape
Featured Plant- Orange Jessamine (Murraya paniculata)
- Deriving from India and Southeast Asia, it is an evergreen and also has small, oval berries
- Aromatic foliage and creamy white flowers which are strongly scented and closely resembles their relative the orange
- Flourishes in warm, frost free climate in full sun or part shade, keep in humus rich and well drained soil
- Clipping and pruning are essential to keep their shape
Featured Plant- Dwarf Sacred Bamboo (Nandina domestica ‘Nana’)
- Originating from China and Japan, it is an evergreen shrub which has strong upright cane like stems and grows to 1.8 meters high
- 45 cm in height and width. The elliptical leaves are red when young, becoming green and then developing to a rich yellow, orange and red tones when the cold weather arrives
- Moderately frost hardy species likes some shade, fertile soil and a warm temperate or subtropical climate
- Pruning is essential to keep their shape
