Landscape Design

Episode: Eight
Date: 26th April 2008
Presenter: Nigel Ruck
Story Title: Landscape Design

The simplicity in design is something that is often underestimated for its impact. Our Landscape Guru, Nigel Ruck shows us a stunning Japanese garden designed by legendary Australian landscape architect, Dean Herald, who is most famous for winning gold at the international garden show, the Chelsea Flower Show. Dean is also the author of ‘Resort Style Living’, a stunning book which features some of his best work and we have arranged for special autographed editions available for our viewers exclusively. The owner of the garden featured is Danny Kildare who took the photographs within the book. He shares the appreciation of the balanced energy from all the contrasting elements of the garden such as the impressive granite waterfall, exotic foliage, rock, shape and clean cut design.

Danny Kildare
There are those who take pictures and there are those who are masters of light.
Danny Kildare is at the top of the list in the latter category. Kildare’s intuitive sense of colour, composition and form results in images that awaken the senses.
Photography you can feel ..
Photography you can taste ..
Photography you can smell, see and virtually hear ..
A portfolio of his latest work includes heartbreakingly beautiful floral portraits at Monet’s Gardens in Giverny, France, the Chelsea Flower Show,  Westonbirt Arboretum and Ilford Manor.
Kildare’s food photography is so clean and simple it belies its strength and drama. His work in other genres such as architecture and wedding photography demonstrates the depth of this man’s unique talents.
