Mary Tjhungs? garden in Kardinya is a finalist in the medium sized garden category and this is a meticulous creation of many moods. The first thing you see with this garden is the immaculate lawn out front, so beautifully maintained.

Garden Features

  • A major feature in the front garden is a golf pit with a water course around the green with a babbling stream complete with mind calming fish.
  • Careful planning has made sure that there is year round colour here and as you walk out the back the first of the Sasanqua camellias is in full early bloom a semaphore for the rest of the collection ready to get into their season in the next few weeks.
  • Roses are flowering beautifully setting a standard for the rest of the garden to follow with Durant?s which is a hardy shrub with a delightful two toned flower which was introduced to WA by Neville Passmore years back.
  • There?s a hedged vegetable patch so tidy and with such straight lines to prevent bugs from eating edibles.
  • A miniature orchard shoe horned into the yard with espalier citrus ready to fruit under the eaves, amazing.
  • This would have to be one of the best examples I have seen of the Million bells plants what a lovely show of contrasting flowers and just perfect for a feature pot.
  • Then there is the covered patio a haven for relaxation amongst plants of course.

Mary congratulations on a delightful garden with straight lines and a spot of whimsy, very happy to see that you are a finalist, well done.
