Save 6 Part Two
Story Title: Save 6 Part Two
Episode: Six
Date: November 8th 2009
Presenter: Chris Ferreira
As part of the Water Corporation’s 50-year ‘Water Forever’ plan, they are asking every household in WA to save at least six standard (10L) buckets of water each day. Chris pays Trevor a visit at home, to show just how easy this is to achieve.
Chris recommends...
- Take shorter showers.
- Catch the cold shower water in a bucket, while waiting for it to heat up
- Fix leaking taps and toilets.
- Turn off the tap when brushing your teeth.
- Always wait for a full load of washing before putting the washing machine on.
- Use a half-flush, instead of full-flush when you can.
- Reduce your sprinkler time.
- Mulch the garden.
- Choose a water efficient lawn.
- Install a pool cover to reduce evaporation.
- Wash your car with a bucket, and on the lawn.
- Give pressure washers a miss.
If everyone does their bit, in just one year we’ll save around a third of the water in Mundaring Weir.
