As part of the Water Corporation’s 50-year ‘Water Forever’ plan, they are asking every household in WA to save at least six standard (10L) buckets of water each day. Chris pays Trevor a visit at home, to show just how easy this is to achieve.

Chris recommends...

INSIDE

• Take shorter showers.
• Catch the cold shower water in a bucket, while waiting for it to heat up
• Fix leaking taps and toilets.
• Turn off the tap when brushing your teeth.
• Always wait for a full load of washing before putting the washing machine on.

• Use a half-flush, instead of full-flush when you can.

OUTSIDE

• Reduce your sprinkler time.
• Mulch the garden.
• Choose a water efficient lawn.
• Install a pool cover to reduce evaporation.
• Wash your car with a bucket, and on the lawn.
• Give pressure washers a miss.

If everyone does their bit, in just one year we’ll save around a third of the water in Mundaring Weir.
