Liz and Jamie Clemon's “Nundah” garden

  • Originally a classical 1950 farm house, the gardens have been developed by planting out hedging plants that create something every great garden enjoys, a wind protected environment.
  • The garden is made up of plantings of some beautiful ornamental plants from across the globe. Waterwise beauties such as succulents, salvia's, hibiscus, clivia, diosma, echiums, agapanthus, lavender and pelargoniums.
  • The three most important learnings here are that soil must be improved with a nutrient rich organic compost. The second is to make sure you build wind breaks around your garden to increase humidity and reduce water consumption. The third and last factor for success is to use plants that suit your environment. In Australia that means plants that require little supplementary water during the dry months to thrive and survive.

There are so many things to do in King Island. It is home to King Island Dairy, has some of the best seafood and beef in the world and is an island of peace and quiet.
