• 10% electricity rise announced May Budget – to add to 33.5% rises over last 10 months.
• Residential Net Feed-In Tariff to commence 1st August for excess electricity generated and fed into the grid.
• May 2011 all households will need to provide mandatory disclosure (an energy rating certificate) before being sold or rented, giving households a reason to be energy efficient as ratings will affect the property value.
• Solar systems will help reduce your carbon footprint with each system saving approx 2.4 tonne of CO2 per year.
• Financially and environmentally sound decision - A standard 1.5kw system will add approx $10,000 to the value of the home and can pay itself off in less than 4 years, depending on your home and system.
• Unlike other technology based investments, solar power doesn't become obsolete as it continues to power your home no matter how technology changes. Like buying your own mini power plant that continues to save you money over its lifespan.
