  • Most citrus fruit season yearly, but look out for mandarins between October and March.
  • For the best selection when choosing oranges look out for firm smooth and thin-skinned oranges that are full coloured and heavy for its size.
  • At Spring temperatures grapefruit, Valencia oranges and lemons can be expected to keep for 3 months, Navel oranges 3 months and mandarins for 1 to 2 months depending on variety, maturity and storage condition.
  • Try not to store with other products, such as ethylene producing fruit, or at temperatures, which will reduce storage life.
  • You can pick up fresh and 100% orange juice freshly squeezed every Sunday from Kalamunda Farmers Markets, or you can even squeeze your own.
  • One of the best oranges for juicing, Valencia oranges, are available from October through to late May.
  • Lovers of citrus fruits would be wise to pick up a bag of the freshest citrus fruits early every Sunday from the Kalamunda Farmers Market before they run out.
