Managing Controllers

Story Title: Managing Controllers
Episode 8: WA's Great Gardens
Date: 28th November 2010
Presenter:
 Neville Passmore

A waterwise irrigation system has the potential to save water only if it has been designed and installed to deliver the right amount of water to the right place at the right time, with the minimum amount of waste. Neville shows us how important it is to check your irrigation system regularly to ensure that it continues to be waterwise.

Tips and Facts

  • Be sure to check your irrigation system controller unit is now programmed for the current watering roster.
  • Check your back up battery is charged-if you experience a power outage your irrigation system may default and operate on your non-watering day, risking you a fine!
  • Visit a Waterwise Irrigation Design Shop for advice on water efficient garden irrigation systems.
  • Contact a Waterwise Garden Irrigator to design and install a waterwise irrigation system.
  • A Waterwise Lawn mowing Contractor can help you shift your irrigation controller to one day a week and also provide other tips on how to maintain a waterwise garden.
  • A malfunctioning irrigation controller is not an excuse for not complying with sprinkler rosters.
  • Visit the Watering Days page to get help programming your irrigation controller. On the website you can find the manuals for most irrigation controllers.
