Spring! The most colourful time of the year – but wouldn't it be nice to get more colour out of your flowering shrubs for longer? Trevor Cochrane shows you how.

Tips and Facts

  • Regulating your gardens temperature to keep it between 18 to 25 degrees is an effective way to extend the flowering period.
  • Feeding your plants through the foliage is a trick used by flower growers to get plants to produce more flowers. Use a specialized plant food designed to promote flowering and apply on a cool day or in the afternoon.
  • Removing spent or dead blooms from you plants will stimulate more flower bursts.
