In Perth we have been blessed! It isn’t just our sunshine, beautiful beaches or even our football teams that make us so lucky. We have been gifted with some of the most amazing plants in the world, plants that are strange, unique and like nothing else on the planet but a have vigor, beauty and richness almost unmatched. So great is this biological treasure trove that over 70% of tourist tell us they come to WA especially to see our amazing plants. We are world famous for our wildflowers and many have been in grown in cultivation around the world almost as long as we have been a settlement.

  • You can put some great West Australian plants in your garden right now, some of Grady Brand’s favorites are the Pear Fruited Mallee, the Sandplain Bottlebrush, the Golden Kangaroo Paw, and the Mulla Mulla
  • When planting these kinds of plants, prepare the soil by removing the hydrophobia, wet the soil and put in some slow release fertilizer, water them in well, and keep watering them in during the summer period.
  • Friends of Kings Park are having a native plant sale on Sunday 18th May from 8:30am to 12pm at the Kings Park Exhibition Grounds
