Since we started The Garden Gurus back in 2002 we've worked with some pretty amazing gardening companies to make sure that we bring you the latest ideas, things that'll help you have a beautiful garden without too much effort and this has to be one of those companies.

• It's a world leading brand called Scotts. You might know them because of many of the brands that they bring to market like Osmocote, Lawn Builder and Defender.
• One thing about them is that they are relied on by the professional industry to deliver great results and that's what you'll get in your own backyard.
• We first introduced the Lawn Builder on the show in 2003 and its slow release action has made having a healthy lawn so much easier. It has been relied on by the professional turf keeping industry for a long time.
• Then the innovation of Osmocote, a controlled release plant food again used by professional nurserymen in their potting mixture. Its steady release over 6-9 months meant that plants are not at risk of burning.
• It was revolutionary but Scotts found a way to improve it even further when they developed a new controlled release Osmocote that also used slow release organic components. They improved soil microbial activity and enriched it.
• The combined effect made this new innovation perfect for vegetable gardens but also highly productive plants like roses, azaleas and cammelias. They also have the brand Defender, a pest control solution and one of the most effective controls was Maxguard, a sistemic insecticide.
