Helleborus also known as the winter rose are cold hardy perennials that hug the ground and look amazing planted beneath taller shrubs or trees.

• They are famously known for their nodding buds which open to all sorts of colors. And over time they will gradually naturalize a small area.
• They are best grown in shaded areas where they have protection from hot, late afternoon sun. They will also enjoy a nice rich soil, so plenty of organic matter to grow in. Otherwise growing them in containers is another good option.
