Neville shares his tips and tricks for maintaining a fantastic lawn using a battery operated lawn mower!
- When it starts to get warmer, you know it’s time to re-start your spring grass care as your lawn is in a growing phase again.
- If you’ve made the switch to battery lawn mowers, you’ll already know how much easier these are to run and maintain compared to petrol mowers.
- There’s no need to check and refill you fuel each time, particularly if you’ve left your mower in the shed for months without changing the fuel, no spark plug changes or flooded engines!
- Cleaning and maintaining the mower is easy with the ability to put the mower in service position which would cause issues with fuel or oil spilling out of a petrol mower.
- Starting is easy. Basic stating process, safety features and even self-propelled versions
- Keep your neighbours happy with a beautiful yard and sleep in on the weekend without hearing your mower.
- Make sure that the blades on your lawn mower are clean and sharp. This means the soft, young spring growth is cut cleanly, rather than being damaged in a way that makes the grass susceptible to disease
- The optimum cutting height is between 4 and 6 centimetres dependent on the variety; in shaded areas such as under bushes, it may be necessary to leave a little more length to ensure the lawn says healthy- the effortless cutting height adjustment found on your STIHL lawn mower makes it easy to set the preferred cutting height.
- When caring for your battery mower, you should look after it through cleaning and regular service and maintenance to not only get the best performance for lawn, but also ensure longevity of your mower too!
