Here are Angie’s tips for success:

• Lawn weeds like clover and thistles thrive during the cooler months and can take over or make the lawn very prickly! Granular lawn weed killers like Yates Weed’n’Feed control broadleaf weeds, as well as giving the lawn a nutrient boost.
• Moth orchids, with their gorgeous flowers, may look daunting, but they are really not too hard to grow! They need a free draining potting mix, bright but indirect light and to promote healthy growth and lots of flowers, feed them every 2 months with a specialised orchid food.
• And check your cool season vegies, like broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower and onions for damaging pests like aphids and caterpillars. Spray pests directly with a pyrethrum-based spray.
