Spring’s warmer weather sparks new growth in indoor plants, a great time to refresh your collection at home or in the office.
- Here are some tips: Take indoor plants outside for a gentle hose down to remove dust and grime, and give them a month or two under pergolas, eaves, or in a shade house for fresh air and recovery.
- While your existing plants are outside, replace them with new ones, growers like Flora Plant offer a huge range of indoor-friendly varieties in all shapes, sizes, and colours.
- Many indoor plants thrive in bright indirect light, but some, like Richard’s favourites, also do exceptionally well in low-light spots, perfect for offices or shaded rooms.
- Not all houseplants are just green leaves, flowering varieties can bring colour indoors. Combine with foliage plants for contrast and seasonal interest.
- For mixed planters, choose one standout feature plant, one compact clumping variety and one trailing or cascading plant for a lush, balanced look.
