Darren showcases STIHL’s Nylon Line Cutting heads; all packed with different benefits and uses.
- The AutoCut range is great for trimming and mowing and line ejection is done by a simple tap on the ground with the machine running. The line can be reloaded without taking the head apart. Auto cut heads are the go-to for all round garden care and for chasing a mower for the finishing touches.
- The SuperCut head is a fully automatic line feed head for light trimming and edging work. It works using an automatic adjustment system to ensure you have continuously optimised line length. This is great for those that forget to bump line out when using a line trimmer. And it is great for applications where you have a lot of fence line to work around and want to work consistently without stopping to bump out line.
- TrimCut heads are best used if you have a lot of trimming to do against walls as there is a barrier between the outlet hole and the edge of the cutting head, so you won’t have to worry about nylon line breaking inside the head. It allows you to store more line in the head and due to the head design, it greatly reduces vibrations and thus fatigue. No disassembly is required to respool either and you can fit up to 3mm thick line.
- DuroCut heads are a low-cut height and profile cutting head which use serrated pre-cut line segments for tough vegetation and have no winding required. There is a wear guard available so you can keep your head in working condition for longer. These heads are great for mowing large areas of undulating terrain where you want a very low grass height, as they can be ‘skidded’ across the ground.
- PolyCut head uses polymer bladers for mowing tall grass and tasks where a lawn mower may not be suitable and allow for manual feeding of nylon line as a 2-in-1 function. The PolyCut excels in areas where you can’t fit a lawn mower or to help you mow lawn with precision.
- There are a variety of different nylon line types and sizes, and each one has its benefits. The round line is great for everyday trimming and edging. Square line is higher in noise output by is great for slicing cleanly through dense grass and weeds. X-Line is cutting through tough vegetation and CF3 line is an extremely durable 3-component line made from polyamide for optimal noise and performance balance.
