Open up one of these exterior colour charts and prepare yourself for every imaginable colour or hue there is and have a go at selecting two or three different colours where you can contrast your walls with your doors and trims.

• Some people have a knack for this and they are called interior designers. For the rest of us, using preselected colour palettes from Dulux will take the guesswork out of trying to coordinate exterior colour schemes. If you need even more help, the Dulux Colour Design Services is money well spent.
• Choose warm colours to paint a little house such as a garden shed that will complement the surrounding trees and plants. There is even a Dulux app on your phone that you can use for the colour palette.
• Once you have chosen your colours, it is time to choose your paint and what you want is something that can handle Australia’s tough climate – wind, rain, extreme heat, bitter cold which is the Dulux Weathershield.
• It is long-lasting, looks great and it will provide protection against Australia’s harsh conditions. You will get no peeling, cracking or blistering and what’s more, it’s guaranteed to last as long as you live in your house.
• Dulux Weathershield is also self-priming on most surfaces using most colours. It also offers UV protection which gives great colour durability and once applied, it helps resist dirt and mould.
• For the cuttings and the trims, using the brush is the way to go. The Dulux rapid finish spray gun is up to three times faster than painting with a brush or roller when painting over a large surface area.
• For Dulux Weathershield, you will need to dilute the first coat with 10% water if it is going through the spray gun. Make sure you have the same dilution across the whole project so the colour remains consistent throughout.
